Red Wrigglers and Cocoons

• Adult Worm Screening: Utilize the 3 mm mesh to sift adult red wrigglers from bedding.
• Cocoon Collection: Start with 2.5 mm for fine castings, then use 3 mm to gather cocoons. 

Euros & Crawlers

• Worm Screening: A 4 mm mesh is ideal for capturing Euros and Crawlers, letting bedding material fall through.
• Cocoon Harvesting: Employ a 3 mm screen to separate fine castings, followed by a 4 mm to collect cocoons.

How to find the right size Mixing Tub?

Look for:
10 Gallon, 28 in. L x 20 in. W x 6 in. H Home Depot and Lowes both carry it in US and Canada stores, around $8 US.

Some places refer to it as “Medium” or “Small”

Another common size is 36 in. L x 24 in. W, which is too large. Usually called “Mortar Mixing Tub”.

Some hardware stores sell a slightly shorter model (26 in. L, 9 gallon) that should work fine.

The key is the 20 inches overall width.

Another way to check: measure across “peak-to-peak” should be 18-1/2”.

In UK and Europe, that’s 470mm.
